In 2023, Areté Structures fabricated a 30-foot FRP truss bridge kit for West Viginia Land Trust, a non-profit that has protected over 20,000 acres of land in West Virginia. This particular bridge was destined for the Marie Hall Jones Ancient Forest Preserve in Doddridge County. The FRP truss bridge spans the Nutter Fork, near the entrance to the property, allowing safe pedestrian recreational access to the majority of the 172-acre preserve. Farther up the holler, near the ridge, is about 15 acres of old growth Appalachian hardwood forest. This beautiful stand of timber is accessible via a 3-mile loop trail, across the bridge from the parking area. The contractor, Mountain Valley Resources, did a great job with the bridge installation and construction of abutments and approaches.
