Areté Structures assisted the Seattle Department of Transportation and Public Utilities when they needed to replace an existing timber pedestrian bridge and boardwalk. The bridge and boardwalk were part of the Longfellow Natural Drainage System Project that began in 2021 and was completed in 2024. This bridge replacement project required a 26-foot long FRP Truss bridge and 132 feet of FRP Boardwalk in 12-foot-long I-beam sections with custom railing. The bridge was built over a creek and the boardwalk traverses a wetland area. The structures were built and installed by Jansen Inc. of Bellingham Washington.
The city reported that, Areté structures was fantastic to work with!
